Proofreading can be vital for spotting mistakes, plus identifying potential improvements to your writing that really takes things to the next level and make your words shine. By identifying superficial flaws, we will help you produce higher-quality documents; crisper, tighter copy that is smooth and enjoyable to read, gets your message across and helps you achieve your business aims. Different from editing, proofreading is the final step in the editing process.
We offer this as an in-house add-on, prior to beginning our design and/or print services with you.
How it works:
Step 1 – You send us your text
Trackable edits help you see mistakes and review/confirm our suggestions, so for this service we request your documents in MS Word format. (We can then deliver proposed changes via the ‘Track Changes’ function, which will allow you to view, accept or reject them via trackable edits. Where it is more appropriate, we will also use the ‘Comments’ function to make observations, or query things you have included.)
Step 2 – We proofread your work
We will first read through your work, to get a sense of the overall text and message. We will then take a second pass, this time specifically checking for errors relating to grammar, spelling, punctuation and clarity.
Step 3 – We send it back to you with suggested changes
Observations and suggested amendments relating to both components will then be delivered to you, proposing how the overall flow and tone could be improved, plus specific suggested changes in terms of errors or possible alternative wording. You can then accept amendments and ‘lock-in’ the text, prior to us getting started with designing and/or printing your order.
Adding this proofreading service onto your job with us will be £20 plus VAT per 1000 words, with a minimum charge of £20 plus VAT for documents with less than 1000 words.
Should you be interested in using this service in addition to design and/or print, please allow for up to two extra working days for your order to be processed.
